Carla Zackson's background as a media producer
includes national and international experience in film and
videotape, PR campaigns, management and systems coordination. She
scripts, shoots and supervises editing and animation on corporate video
(including VNRs and SMTs) for Fortune 500 clients, specializing in
health communications, social issue campaigns and dot com
promotions. Her specialty using new media
for public health messaging and women’s health issues has led her to
produce a number of projects for the Internet including a recent web
cast for Eli Lilly called "Learning
Wellness."
Her independent consulting clients in
corporate communications also include IBM Europe, Bell Telephone, and
the BBC. Ms. Zackson has supervised project management on
multimedia sales tools for Loctite and Blue Cross, and has produced
corporate video for clients including Hoffmann-La Roche, Novartis,
Amtrak, Merck-Medco, Warner-Lambert, and AT&T.
In conjunction with
her regular team of creative personnel, Ms. Zackson can provide full
production services in corporate film, videotape, audio, events and new
media based out of NJ as ZMX (Zackson MediaWorks.) She also freelances
for various PR and web agencies as a media consultant for their
clients.
A graduate of Cornell
University and the prestigious DGA Training Program, Zackson is a member
of the Directors
Guild of America (DGA) and has worked in production
on feature films (Working Girl, Mystic Pizza, See No Evil,
Fletch) and on television commercials for Corning, Tyco Toys,
Pillsbury, Dial and Elf Acquitaine. Her television experience
includes episodic TV production on The Equalizer and Molly Dodd, and a
Penn & Teller comedy special.
Ms. Zackson has experience in non-profit arts
management managing corporate contributions and grants. She helped
obtain and oversee disbursement of grants from the Ford Foundation and
from Time Warner while at Crosswalks Television Network. As
Director of Marketing at ODN and then Director of Public Affairs at CWX,
Ms. Zackson was primarily responsible for corporate image marketing and
sponsorship enlistment.
Zackson’s work on complex film production logistics
and significant special events has given her the capacity to manage
details in a firm, hands-on fashion from equipment rental to
accommodations for large groups. She managed the NYS Child Care
Campaign and worked on the Ms. Foundation “Take our Daughters to Work”
1993 curricular materials (ODN.)
Ms. Zackson has learned about effective motivational
training, encouragement and supervision techniques. Her management
training has enabled her to supervise and coordinate the efforts of
skilled media technicians (film and TV crews), artists (musicians,
actors, dancers), and varied groups of both paid and volunteer staff at
the cultural and arts institutions she has served. Having lived and
worked for several years abroad, Zackson is sensitive to different
learning styles and work management techniques to best reach a diverse
creative team and crew. She is fluent in written and spoken
French.
